Private Pilot Training - $65/hour

Comprehensive private pilot training designed to build a solid foundation for your aviation career. Learn essential flying skills and aeronautical knowledge. Earn your license to be a pilot! Available throughout DFW in your aircraft or through our rental network.

Commercial Pilot Training - $75/hour

Advanced training for aspiring commercial pilots. Excludes the 20 hours of instrument and complex requirements but covers all other aspects needed for your commercial certificate. Available throughout DFW in your aircraft or through our rental network.

Biennial Flight Reviews - $75/hour

Stay sharp, safe, and current with a comprehensive Biennial Flight Review. Work with a certified flight instructor to refresh your flying skills, reinforce essential knowledge, and meet the FAA requirement to keep your certificate current for another 24 months. Available throughout DFW in your aircraft or through our rental network.

Checkride Preparation - $75/hour

Comprehensive training to get you checkride-ready. Sharpen your maneuvers, master procedures, and reinforce critical knowledge areas to ensure you're confident, competent, and fully prepared to demonstrate your skills to the examiner. Available throughout DFW in your aircraft or through our rental network.

Ground Training - $35/hour

Ground lessons over any aviation topic. Personalized ground instruction tailored to your needs. Whether you're preparing for a checkride or just looking to strengthen your understanding of complex topics—like weather phenomena, airspace, or aircraft systems—these sessions provide focused support to help you build confidence and clarity in any area of aviation knowledge. Available throughout DFW at your preferred location.

Emergency Training - $80/hour

Sharpen your decision-making and response skills with focused training on critical in-flight emergencies. Learn how to effectively handle scenarios like engine failures, in-flight fires, and other time-sensitive situations through realistic simulations and scenario-based discussions—so you're prepared to act quickly and confidently when it matters most. Available throughout DFW in your aircraft or through our rental network.

About Your Instructor

Michael McKenzie

With nearly 7 years of aviation experience as a pilot, including 3 years in aviation maintenance, and a degree in Aerospace Administration and Operations from Oklahoma State University, I am committed to helping each student achieve their aviation goals. As a certified flight instructor holding commercial single- and multi-engine ratings, along with complex and high-performance endorsements and instrument certification, I provide thorough, individualized instruction tailored to every level of experience.

A proud native Texan with more than eight generations of family rooted in the DFW area, I'm honored to serve my local community and share a lifelong passion for aviation with aspiring pilots across North Texas.

McKenzie Flight Services serves the entire Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, providing flight instruction at multiple airports including 52F (Aero Valley), Grand Prairie Municipal, and Sherman Municipal. We offer maximum flexibility: train in your own aircraft, rent from our established network of aircraft owners, or work with aircraft you've arranged outside our network. We're actively seeking partnerships with aircraft owners throughout DFW to expand training opportunities.

Own Your Aircraft? I provide professional instruction in owner aircraft throughout the DFW area. Whether you have a Cessna, Piper, Cirrus, or other aircraft, I'll work with you to achieve your aviation goals in your plane.

Need to Rent? Access our established network of aircraft owners at multiple DFW locations. Current options include aircraft at 52F (Aero Valley), Grand Prairie Municipal, and Sherman Municipal airports.

Have Another Rental Source? No problem! I'm happy to provide instruction in aircraft you've arranged through other rental providers or flying clubs throughout the metroplex.

Aircraft Owners: We're actively seeking partnerships with aircraft owners interested in making their planes available for rental instruction or who need a professional CFI for insurance or checkout requirements. Contact me to discuss partnership opportunities.
